Heaven Hill Distilleries Old Whiskey River 6 Year Old
Description
Old Whiskey River 6 Year Old — Heaven Hill Bourbon
This 6-year-old Kentucky Straight Bourbon from Heaven Hill, named for Willie Nelson’s 1978 song, is a small-batch release bottled at 86 proof (43% ABV) in a 750 ml format. It is marked by a signature guitar pick dangling from the neck of the bottle — a tribute to Nelson’s influence and the bourbon’s Americana spirit.
The mash bill combines corn, rye, and barley. The grains are sourced from family-owned farms within roughly 100 miles of the distillery. Aging takes place in new, heavily charred American oak barrels, which impart warm vanilla, sweet oak, and toasted spice notes into the bourbon’s flavor profile.
The nose delivers inviting aromas of caramel, vanilla, and fruit, with light rye spice and toasted oak undertones. On the palate, one can expect a smooth sweetness balanced by grain, honeyed tones, subtle fruit, and a mellow finish framed by oak and light char.
Why collectors and bourbon lovers appreciate this edition: the combination of the 6-year age, thoughtful barrel char, regional grain sourcing, and that iconic guitar pick accessory make it more than just bourbon—it’s a statement piece. For those who value character and storytelling in a bottle, Old Whiskey River 6 Year Old offers both.
