Description

Introducing a truly exceptional collector's item: the Conde de Osborne Solera Gran Reserva Brandy, presented in the iconic bottle designed by the master of surrealism, Salvador Dalí. This particular edition dates from the 1970s, representing a remarkable piece of history where Spanish artistry and heritage converge.

In 1964, the historic house of Osborne, a producer of fine wines and spirits since 1772, commissioned Salvador Dalí to create a unique vessel for their most prestigious brandy. The result was this striking white porcelain bottle, a sculptural masterpiece that perfectly encapsulates the singular and elegant spirit of the brandy within. Its unique, flowing design is instantly recognizable as the work of the legendary artist.

This is a genuine Brandy de Jerez, produced in the celebrated region of El Puerto de Santa María in Andalusia. Classified as a Solera Gran Reserva, the highest designation for Spanish brandy, it signifies exceptional quality and extensive aging. The spirit is crafted from the finest holandas (low-alcohol wine spirits) distilled from 100% Airén grapes.

The aging process is what truly sets this brandy apart. It matures for an average of more than 10 years in American oak casks, following the traditional Solera y Criaderas system. Crucially, these barrels were previously seasoned with sweet Pedro Ximénez sherry, imparting a profound depth and complexity to the final spirit.

The long maturation in PX sherry casks bestows a dark mahogany color upon the brandy. On the palate, it is smooth, velvety, and complex, with elegant notes of oak, vanilla, raisins, and dried figs. The finish is intense and remarkably long-lasting.

This vintage 1970s bottling is a testament to its era. The presentation includes the distinctive porcelain bottle with Dalí's signature integrated into the design. The closure and capsule are characteristic of the period, making it a prized possession for enthusiasts of both fine spirits and surrealist art.

This bottle is more than just a brandy; it is a piece of art history. The collaboration between Osborne and Salvador Dalí was a landmark event, and these early editions are increasingly rare. Its heritage, artistic significance, and the exceptional quality of the Solera Gran Reserva brandy inside make it a highly sought-after item for discerning collectors worldwide.
