Description
Hennessy Cuvée Bicentenaire 1765-1965 Limited Edition Cognac
A remarkable and highly collectible release, the Hennessy Cuvée Bicentenaire stands as a testament to the enduring legacy of the world's most renowned cognac house. This bottling is a historic artifact, celebrating a significant moment in time with a blend crafted from the unparalleled reserves of aged eaux-de-vie that only Hennessy possesses. Its existence is a nod to centuries of masterful blending and a deep-rooted history.
This particular cuvée was specially created to commemorate the 200th anniversary of the Independence of the United States, highlighting the long-standing alliance between France and the USA. Released as a limited edition reserved for the U.S. market, each bottle is individually numbered, making it a rare and sought-after piece for collectors of fine spirits. The blend itself was designed to evoke the deeper, richer, and full-bodied brandies that were popular two centuries ago, a feat made possible by Hennessy's vast and ancient cognac stocks.
The presentation is as distinguished as the spirit within. Housed in a bottle inspired by late 18th-century designs, this cognac captures the essence of its historical celebration. Every element, from the carefully chosen blend to the historically inspired container, makes the Hennessy Cuvée Bicentenaire a prestigious and finite piece of liquid history.
Product Information
This bottle, Nº 020306, is a fantastic example of this limited production. The labels and seals provide a rich narrative. The oval-shaped upper label announces the special release with "Cuvée Bicentenaire" in an elegant, flowing script. Below this, a prominent round, golden wax seal is expertly applied to the glass, bearing the embossed intertwined "JH" monogram of Jas Hennessy.
The main cream-colored label proudly displays "Jas Hennessy & Cᵒ" in a decorative serif font. It explicitly states, "This cognac commemorates the 200th anniversary of the Independence of the United States," followed by the declaration of it being a "LIMITED BOTTLING PRODUCTION LIMITEE". A subtle graphic of a hand with a quill pen over a scroll adds to the historical motif. Production details, including the 700ml volume and 40% alc./vol., are clearly noted at the bottom.
The bottle is sealed with a golden, textured capsule, suggesting a traditional wax or foil closure that ensures the integrity of the cork. The overall condition is excellent, with a remarkably high fill level, well into the neck, indicating perfect storage conditions and minimal evaporation. The glass is clear and well-preserved, showcasing the deep, inviting color of the aged cognac inside.
