During the revolutionary war,
France was the closest
ally of the United States
in their struggle
for Independence.
To celebrate
this alliance,
we have produced
a Cognac in which connoisseurs
will find a deeper
and richer flavour reminiscent
of the full bodied brandy known
to have been popular
two centuries ago.
At Hennessy, we are, for this blend
because we hold the largest stocks
of aged Cognacs in the world,
some dating from
the beginning of the last century.
We have shipped
this unique Cognac
in a bottle similar to one
used in the late 18th century,
sealed with cork and wax
and carrying the brand
of the shipper.
2) Visual elements:
Neck/Capsule: A coppery/golden brown wax seal covers the cork and upper neck. A red-and-white patterned tax band (strip label) vertically wraps around the wax, featuring a central embossed-like eagle graphic.
Upper Label (bottle): A round, dark reddish-brown wax medallion/seal is affixed to the bottle shoulder, displaying an embossed monogram (appears to be "H" or "JH").
Mid Label (bottle): Light tan/cream label with a subtle texture. A gold emblem of a "Bras Armé" (arm holding an axe) is above "Jas Hennessy & Co". "Cuvee Bicentenaire" is in a decorative script font; "Jas Hennessy & Co" uses a serif font. The commemorative text ("This cognac commemorates...") is in a decorative script, while "A LIMITED BOTTLING..." is in a sans-serif block font. The bottle number is in serif, and the signature "Jas Hennessy & Co." is in a distinctive script.
Back Label (bottle): Text is in a uniform small serif font, with a script "Jas Hennessy & Co." signature at the bottom.
Box Front: Light tan/cream with a prominent gold "Bras Armé" graphic at the top. Features text in decorative script, serif, and sans-serif fonts, consistent with the bottle's main label.
Box Side: Displays "1776 1976" in a decorative, almost calligraphic block style. The descriptive text ("During the revolutionary war...") is in a fine serif font.
