My great uncle (who I share a birthday with exactly 50 years a part), used to own a small bar in Louisville, KY. Similar to many Kentuckians, he had a love for good bourbon. He also had a love for fine cognac and brandy. He recently passed and left a nice collection to my aunt. I also share a love for bourbon and worked at a spirits store for a few years. She doesn’t know much about fine spirits, so she asked for my help to appraise and sell some of his collector’s bottles.

We recently inherited the family home and found it in the liquor cabinet. It is still in the straw basket container and has never been taken out. I cannot get it out so I really can’t see the top of the bottle but it looks like it is a wax seal with a paper seal across it, and there’s a number on the paper seal that I can see that is I – 549. U able to send pictures you desire because of the inability to remove from basket. I’m sure it can be removed but I’m afraid I might mess it up.
