PRINTED IN FRANCE Hang tag: This Exquisite Hand-Blown Crystal Decanter Is An Exact Replica of a flask disco- vered on the site of the battle of Jarnac fought in 1569 during the religious wars be- tween the Catholics under the Duc d' ANJOU, brother of King CHARLES IX and HENRI III. The Protestants were led by a member of the royal family, the Prince de CONDÉ. Both Generals held the "Fleur-de-lys" as their Cognizance emblem. As it appears at the bottom of the decanter this emblem on the decanter does not show as to which last. Century Monsieur REMY MARTIN while riding over the ancient battlefield, met a peasant who while working his land had just unearthed this flask.
